Colorado Springs, Colo. – – Focus on the Family has been selected as a nominee for three 2013 media awards by the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB).
Focus' "John 3:16" commercial was nominated for "Best TV Commercial." The 30-second spot was nationally televised during an AFC Divisional playoff game and showed children reciting the John 3:16 Bible verse. The commercial has been viewed more than 940,000 times online and even resulted in two boys giving their lives to Jesus Christ.
Focus was also nominated for "Best Ministry Website." Focus' website offers a wide variety of marriage and family resources, including a media page where visitors can listen to the Daily Broadcast online. They can also receive counseling assistance via live chat and finding a local Christian counselor from the Focus website.
Focus' third NRB nomination is for "Best Use of Social Media." The ministry's Facebook page has more than 740,000 engaged fans. Focus is also on Twitter through various accounts, most notably @FocusFamily and President Jim Daly's personal account, @DalyFocus.
"We are honored to be selected for another year of award nominations by NRB," said John Fuller, vice president of Focus on the Family's Audio division and co-host of the Focus on the Family Daily Broadcast. "These nominations affirm how our ministry is constantly striving to engage constituents with relevant resources and excellence."
