Prayer Vigils for Children in Foster Care to be Held Across America
'Prayer is essential to our efforts to help children in the U.S. foster care system'
April 24, 2009
Colorado Springs, Colo – May is National Foster Care Month and Focus on the Family, in conjunction with Hope for Orphans and Show Hope, is encouraging people to remember and pray for the many children growing up in the foster care system.
As many as 500 prayer vigils for children and youth in foster care are expected to be held across the country May 17-24. The services will provide an opportunity for communities all over America to remember and pray for these children and the families, caseworkers and judges working hard to help them find loving homes.
"Prayer is essential to our efforts to help children in the U.S. foster care system," said Kelly Rosati, senior director of Sanctity of Human Life at Focus on the Family. "If we want them to have a prayer, we must pray on their behalf."
