Wait No More Adoption Conference Heads to Ohio
More than 3,000 awaiting adoption in Ohio's foster care system
March 29, 2010
Colorado Springs, Colo. – Focus on the Family will host its sixth Wait No More adoption conference at Christ’s Church at Mason in Mason, Ohio, on Saturday, May 8. The event will educate people about the tens of thousands of legal orphans in our foster care system and potentially inspire many families to begin the adoption process for a waiting child in foster care.
Sponsored by Focus on the Family and in conjunction with child placement agencies, churches and ministries, the event will highlight the fact that more than 3,000 children are awaiting adoption in Ohio's foster care system – in a state with more than 13,000 churches.
"Our message is simple," said Kelly Rosati, adoptive mother of four and senior director of the Sanctity of Human Life department at Focus on the Family. "Ohio's waiting kids in foster care deserve forever adoptive families. No matter their age or special circumstance, they are precious to God, and we won’t give up on them."
Since November 2008, more than 800 families have stepped forward to start the adoption process through five Wait No More adoption events in four states.
The Wait No More conference is scheduled from 1-5 p.m. and no admission costs are involved. However, because conference-related materials will be offered, pre-registration is strongly preferred. For more information or to register, visit iCareAboutOrphans.org or call 1-800-A-FAMILY.
