Focus on the Family's Radio Theatre Returns on Oct. 9 with The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
Fans of the C.S. Lewis classic can compete for a free trip to the London premiere

Colorado Springs, Colo. – Focus on the Family's Peabody award-winning Radio Theatre will take families back to Narnia with C.S. Lewis' The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Hosted by Lewis' stepson, Douglas Gresham, this faithful adaptation of the classic Chronicles of Narnia novel is the first in a series of Radio Theatre dramas to be re-released to radio programming starting Oct. 9.
Radio Theatre's reputation for quality film-style sound effects and rich musical scores has attracted some of the world's most talented voice actors, including Andy Serkis from The Lord of the Rings trilogy, to make the stories' characters come to life. While all these qualities help capture the imagination of listeners worldwide, Radio Theatre producer David Arnold believes it's the family-friendly content and rich storytelling that ultimately draws entire families to the half-hour weekly program.
"Radio Theatre is more than creating a series of shows. If a story is crafted well, we relate to it; we empathize with the characters, get to know them, endure their hardships and delight in their joys," says Arnold. "There's a reason Jesus used stories to communicate deep truths. All we're doing is following His powerful example and delighting in the response we get from listeners who tell us both their hearts and minds are engaged by the stories we share."
Focus on the Family is promoting Radio Theatre's re-launch with a contest where fans can compete for a grand prize to the Nov. 30 London premier of The Voyage of the Dawn Treader movie via www.FocusOnChristmas.com . Other prizes include The Chronicles of Narnia prize pack, which includes an official movie poster The Voyage of the Dawn Treader; the complete 19 CD Radio Theatre audio drama of The Chronicles of Narnia; and 2 tickets to view The Voyage of the Dawn Treader at a local theater.
