Wait No More Adoption Conference Heads to Dallas

More than 3,500 legal orphans in the Texas foster care system are waiting for adoptive families

November 01, 2010

Colorado Springs, Colo. –
As we recognize National Adoption Month this November, Focus on the Family will join the Texas Department of Family & Protective Services, as well as church and adoption leaders from around Texas, to raise awareness of and recruit families for those precious children awaiting permanent families.

The Wait No More adoption conference, which will be held on Saturday, Nov. 13, at Watermark Community Church in Dallas, will highlight the fact that more than 3,500children are awaiting adoption in Texas’ foster care system – in a state with more than 25,000 churches.

"Our message is simple," said Kelly Rosati, adoptive mother of four and vice president of the Community Outreach at Focus on the Family. "Texas’ waiting kids in foster care deserve forever adoptive families. No matter their age or special circumstance, they are precious to God, and we won’t give up on them."

Since November 2008, more than 1,100 families have stepped forward to start the adoption process through seven Wait No More adoption events in five states.

The Wait No More conference is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and no admission costs are involved. However, because conference-related materials and lunch will be offered, pre-registration is strongly preferred. For more information or to register, visit iCareAboutOrphans.org.
