Focus on the Family to Host Family Concert Events
Event will feature performances by Phil Joel and The Lads
April 25, 2011
Colorado Springs, Colo. --
Focus on the Family, together with deliberatePeople, is celebrating summer with a special concert tour for the whole family. The Family Fight Night concert events will be held in various cities across the country, and will feature performances by Phil Joel, former member of The Newsboys; popular children’s musical group, The Lads; and comedian Bob Smiley. "We know that families today are facing challenges they’ve never seen before," said Joel. "That’s why we want to raise awareness and bring excitement about doing family the way God intended it to be done – with Him at the center!"
Family Fight Night offers fun entertainment and a biblically based message for all ages, but it is specifically designed for families with kids 18 years old and younger. The concert series will visit Melbourne, FL on May 6; Columbus, OH on May 20 and Johnstown, PA on May 26, providing an opportunity for families to share quality time together.
"Time and again, studies show that parents who spend time with their children and have fun together have healthier, happier families," said Yvette Maher, senior communications specialist for Focus on the Family and Family Fight Night speaker. "And this family-friendly, high-energy concert is the perfect place for families to do just that."
The night will also include a special message from Focus on the Family, $500 worth of prizes, and the first 250 families will receive a gift bag from Focus filled with free resources and ideas to help families thrive.
