Pro-Family and Pro-Life Groups Partner to Get Out the Vote

"Commit 2 Vote 2012" is reaching 5 million unregistered pro-life, pro-family houselolds with 10 million reistration forms

July 30, 2012

Colorado Springs, Colo. – In light of a critical election season, Focus on the Family is partnering with five national pro-life and pro-family organizations to produce the largest combined and coordinated non-partisan voter registration project in the history of the pro-family movement: Commit 2 Vote 2012.

The partners are: the American Principles Project, Americans United for Life, Family Research Council, the National Right to Life Educational Trust Fund and the Susan B. Anthony List Education Fund.

In early August, 10 million voter registration forms will be mailed to 5 million households with unregistered constituents of the six partners. Phone calls to recipients will alert them to expect the arrival of the mail package, and follow-up postcards will encourage them to take part in this most basic and cherished obligation of citizenship. To maximize the impact of this effort, two forms have been included for each recipient, so another family member or neighbor who needs to register can vote on Nov. 6.

“On average, more than two families every minute do something tangible to transform the culture through the resources and encouragement offered by Focus on the Family ,” said Jim Daly, president of Focus on the Family. “Our hope through the Commit 2 Vote 2012 campaign is that families will use the resources we provide to make their voices heard on issues that affect the strength and health of the family – as well as the direction of our country.”

In addition, Focus on the Family has developed the Commit2Vote2012.com website, allowing individuals to easily register with downloadable voter registration forms. It also provides resources and a free e-book to help families engage the culture on important social policy issues. The website’s social media tools allow users to share links on Facebook and Twitter that encourage friends to register and vote.
