Focus President Jim Daly Interviews Bono

U2 Rock Star and Activist shares about family, marriage and how his faith impacts his heart for those in extreme poverty

June 24, 2013

Colorado Springs, Colo. – On June 25, the Focus on the Family Daily Broadcast will air an exclusive interview with U2 lead singer and activist Bono, who puts his own faith in action through his humanitarian efforts.

“The way Bono lives out his faith is a message we are trying to emphasize with families every day,” said Focus on the Family President Jim Daly. “Being the hands and feet of Jesus to the destitute and overlooked in society allows us to meet not only their physical needs but also shine light on their spiritual need for everlasting life.”

Bono discusses the progress that has been made in the fight against extreme poverty and disease. He also recalls poignant stories involving his mother and how losing her as a young teenager affected his father, and talks about the importance of his marriage.

Bono’s commitment to fight extreme poverty and disease illustrates his commitment to the “doing of the Word” and living out his faith. Bono is co-founder of The ONE Campaign, an advocacy organization of more than three million people taking action to end extreme poverty and preventable disease.

ONE also works closely with the United States government’s President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), which just passed its 10th anniversary having saved an estimated 5.1 million lives from AIDS to date. The work of The ONE Campaign and its partners on debt relief effort has helped make it possible for 51 million children in Africa to go to school.
