Life and Justice 2013 to Unite Advocates of Preborn Life and Biblical Justice
Two-day conference kicks off with a roundtable event moderated by Christianity Today Editor Mark Galli
February 11, 2013
Colorado Springs, Colo. – Focus on the Family, Children’s Hope Chest, iEmpathize and New Life Church are joining together to sponsor The Life and Justice Conference on March 8-9 at New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colo. to highlight the dignity of human life at every stage and in every condition.
In our culture, there has been a divide between pro-life advocates who focus primarily on preborn children and their mothers, and justice-minded advocates who focus primarily on issues such as human trafficking and genocide. Life and Justice 2013 will bring together both groups and encourage them to take action together. Specifically, the conference will focus on the dignity of preborn children, orphans, immigrants, those living with special needs, the elderly, and victims of human trafficking and genocide.
The conference will feature nationally recognized keynote speakers like Focus President Jim Daly, Q Ideas’ Gabe Lyons, Feminists for Life President Serrin Foster and Rev. Sam Rodriguez, president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference. It will also feature various breakout sessions that will flesh out strategies for prevention, intervention and concrete “next steps” for participants to take.
“It’s our goal to help unite Christians and help them see how our life and justice passions are rooted in the same truth – that every human has an inherent, God-given dignity we must uphold and protect,” said Kelly Rosati, vice president of Focus’ Community Outreach. “We want to educate people on what God says about life. And we also will encourage the doing of God’s word, or orthopraxy, by equipping participants to get involved and put their faith into action.”

On Thursday, March 7, the day before the conference starts, Focus on the Family and Christianity Today will host a 60-minute roundtable discussion with leaders from some of the diverse groups represented at Life and Justice 2013.
