Mere Christianity Quotation
Jim Daly: One of my favorites, because I think it applies to culture today and the way we view people, and let me just read it to you… You’ve got to follow this because you can get a little lost, but here it is…
“When a man is getting better he understands more and more clearly the evil that is still left in him. When a man is getting worse, he understands his own badness less and less. A moderately bad man knows he is not very good: a thoroughly bad man thinks he is all right.”
Jim Daly: That hits it! I think that’s the point that Jesus was making about the sin in our heart when we look down on people and think of ourselves more highly than we should. We’re all sinners saved by grace, and that’s the point of that quote.
