Colorado Springs, CO -- Colorado’s waiting orphans in foster care will be the focus of the Wait No More event being held at New Life Church on Saturday, Nov. 22. Sponsored by Focus on the Family and the Colorado Division of Child Welfare along with child placement agencies, churches and ministries, the conference will highlight National Adoption Month by educating people about today’s orphan crisis and potentially inspiring at least 100 families to begin the adoption process for a waiting child in foster care.

More than 700 children are waiting in the Colorado foster care system for their forever home. Some of these children have been waiting for a permanent loving home for many years and are now on the verge of “aging out” or exiting the system, making it very likely that they will have no one to turn to once they reach the age of 18. Wait No More will serve as an opportunity for families to hear from various speakers and receive helpful answers to their questions about adoption. If families are ready to adopt, agencies represented will help start the process.

“Our message is simple,” said Kelly Rosati, adoptive mother of four and senior director of the Sanctity of Human Life department at Focus on the Family. “Colorado’s waiting kids deserve forever families. We want to be the first state in the nation where there are no more children in foster care waiting for adoptive families.”

The Wait No More conference is scheduled from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. and no admission costs are involved. However, due to the fact that free lunch and conference-related materials will be offered, pre-registration is preferred.
