Colorado Springs, Colo. -- Focus on the Family will join the Georgia Department of Human Services, as well as church and adoption leaders from around Georgia, to raise awareness of and recruit permanent families for those precious waiting children and youth.
The Wait No More adoption conference, which will be held on Saturday, Feb. 26, at Victory World Church in Norcross, will highlight the fact that more than 1,500 children and youth are awaiting adoption in Georgia’s foster care system – in a state with more than 14,000 churches.
"Our message is simple," said Kelly Rosati, adoptive mother of four and vice president of Community Outreach at Focus on the Family. "Georgia’s waiting kids in foster care deserve forever adoptive families. No matter their age or special circumstance, they are precious to God, and we won’t give up on them.
Since November 2008, more than 1,280 families have stepped forward to start the adoption process through eight Wait No More adoption events in six states.
The Wait No More conference is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and no admission costs are involved. However, because conference-related materials and lunch will be offered, pre-registration is strongly preferred.
