Unprecedented Evangelical Pro-Life Conference to be Held at 2016 March for Life

Colorado Springs, Colo. – This year’s March for Life in Washington, D.C., features the first-ever Evangelicals for Life conference, an unprecedented pro-life event sponsored by Focus on the Family and the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC) aimed at increasing the level of engagement in the pro-life cause among evangelical Christians.

"Since 1974, tens of millions have taken part in the March for Life and powerfully communicated the truth that all human life matters, from its earliest stage to natural death," said Focus on the Family President Jim Daly. "We’re excited to join with the ERLC to host the first-ever major pro-life conference for evangelicals at the March for Life, and I’m confident that those who attend will be inspired and equipped with practical advice on building a culture of life in their own communities."

As part of Sanctity of Human Life Month, Evangelicals for Life will take place on Jan. 21-22, 2016, and will feature well-knownspeakers including Jim Daly; Dr. Russell Moore, president of the ERLC; Kelly Rosati, vice president of community outreach at Focus on the Family; and Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference.

Option Ultrasound Program Hits New Milestone of Babies Saved

Focus on the Family’s ongoing sanctity of human life efforts continue to save lives. Since 2004, the Option Ultrasound Program has helped save an estimated 358,000 babies by providing ultrasound machines and sonography training to qualified pro-life medical clinics in high-abortion communities. Fifty-four percent of abortion-minded women choose life for their babies after seeing an ultrasound image, hearing their baby’s heartbeat and talking with a counselor who helps them consider the support and alternatives available to them.

"Focus on the Family is here to care for women and their preborn babies, and the work done by pregnancy resource centers across the country in showing compassion and offering hope continues to give women courage to choose life," said Kelly Rosati, the ministry’s vice president of community outreach.

Building a Pro-Life Community Through Social Media

Focus on the Family’s "I Am Pro-Life" Facebook page has more than 1.17 million likes and serves as a place for visitors to engage in respectful discussion about the value of children in the womb, orphans, the elderly, and those with special needs, while offering hope and healing to those who regret a past abortion. Focus’ Wait No More Events Encourage Thousands to Consider Adoption

Focus on the Family highlights many issues related to the sanctity of human life, including adoption and orphan care. Through the collaborative efforts of Wait No More, more than 3,100 families have initiated the process of adoption from foster care. Those attending Wait No More events about kids who are waiting to be adopted are given practical steps on adopting from foster care and ways to support foster and adoptive families.

The next event will be held in Las Vegas on February 20, and additional conferences are being planned for 2016.
