If your husband is Muslim, then you must already be aware that Islam holds the person of Jesus in high regard. It’s true that the Qur’an denies that He was divine in any way. It also calls Christians “idolaters” because they worship Him as the Son of God. In spite of this, the holy book of Islam honors Jesus the son of Mary as one of the greatest of the prophets who came before Muhammad. This in itself could be an important “opening” for your family.
Encourage your husband to take a close look at Jesus and to keep his eyes focused on Him. If he does, we believe that he may eventually begin to see and understand the life-changing message revealed to us in the face of the Living Word (John 1:14). If you’re looking for Bible readings to help him move in this direction, we’d advise you to start by going through the Gospels. Read through them together, paying special attention to the Gospel of John. As John himself puts it, “No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him” (John 1:18). This, as far as we’re concerned, is where the journey toward genuine Christian faith has to begin.
