As a couple, discuss 1 Samuel 12.

Read the chapter together or individually, then focus your conversation on the passage below, discussing the questions that follow.

"Only fear the LORD and serve him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things he has done for you." 1 Samuel 12:24

  • What do you consider one of your greatest personal blessings?
  • In what ways do you feel God has blessed our marriage?
  • What are some ways we can honor God by blessing others?

In today's materialistic culture, it's easy to feel less than blessed. As we look at neighbors and friends who have bigger homes or better jobs than we do, we may sometimes grow dissatisfied with our lives. But married couples do well to reflect on the things they know are blessings from the Lord, such as a thriving marriage, children, health, daily provision. Take time to write a list of your shared blessings and see if it makes you more aware of what God has done for you.
