"For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain" (Philippians 1:21).
- What are the five most important things in your life? What does this list reveal about your priorities?
- What does it mean to live for Christ today?
- What will you gain by seeing Christ face to face?
The apostle Paul, who penned the book of Philippians, is a great role model for us. He absolutely refused to pursue his own agenda, because he saw himself as a mere servant of Christ. He made plans, but he held them in an open hand. When hard times came, his response wasn’t to pout. It was to yield to God’s authority by humbly saying, “Thy will be done.”Commentary adapted from Life Lessons:Philippians by Max Lucado. Copyright © 2007, Thomas Nelson. Used by permission.
