Take time to talk about Philippians 1 as a couple. Read the chapter together or individually, then focus your discussion on the verses, questions and notes below.
"And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment" (Philippians 1:9).
- What's one thing you thought you knew about me before we were married? When did you first realize you didn't know me as well as you thought?
- Have you ever had a strong belief about something that you later changed your mind on? When did you realize that your beliefs had changed?
- How can you love God more now, without your preconceived thoughts interfering?
When some of us struggle with faith in God, it's not because God has failed or is insufficient. It is because we don't have a true knowledge of God and His ways. . . . If we want our faith in God to increase, we must increase our knowledge of God and His ways. If we have little knowledge of God and His Word, we will have little faith. If we have great knowledge of God and His Word, we potentially will have great faith.
