Chaplain Barry BlackView Bio
In 2003, Rear Admiral Barry Black (Ret.) was elected the 62nd Chaplain of the United States Senate, becoming the first African American to hold the office. Prior to that, he served in the U.S. Navy for over 27 years, ending his distinguished career as the Chief of Navy Chaplains. Chaplain Black has authored three books: Nothing to Fear, The Blessing of Adversity and From the Hood to the Hill. He and his wife, Brenda, have three sons.
