What are the 7 Traits of Effective Parenting?

It’s a simple framework of seven powerful traits that will help you grow in your parenting journey, and be the most effective parent you can be. As you grow in these seven traits, you can impart these same traits to your kids.  The seven traits of effective parenting are well researched, based on the foundations provided through Scripture, enriched by years of application in family counseling settings, as well as the great research surrounding the authoritative style of parenting.

Children and teens are worthy of respect because God created them and loves them.

Intentionality

Guiding, teaching and influencing children toward personal growth and healthy relationships.

Gifts of freedom that help us experience God's deep love.

As Vice President of the Parenting and Youth department, Danny oversees Focus’ initiatives that equip parents to disciple and mentor the next generation, so that they can thrive in Christ. He is a bilingual, licensed clinical social worker. For many years, he has provided families with practical parenting advice. He specializes as a counselor and spokesperson in the treatment of ADHD, conflict resolution, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, trauma, communication, media discernment, the brain, and healthy sexuality.
