ACTION ALERT: Important Pro-Life Bill Being Voted on in U.S. Senate
Do you want to be part of passing one of the most important pro-life laws in recent history?
WHY IS THIS BILL IMPORTANT?
The “Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act” (H.R. 36) would reduce the number of abortions in the U.S., and serve as a major legal blow to Roe v. Wade.
WHEN WILL IT BE VOTED ON?
This important piece of legislation is scheduled for a likely vote in the U.S. Senate on Tuesday, Sept. 22. This bill passed the U.S. House of Representatives on May 13, 2015.
WHAT DOES THIS BILL DO?
According to the bill, it amends the federal criminal code to prohibit abortions, beginning at 20 weeks after fertilization, except in limited circumstances to save the life of the mother, or the pregnancy is the result of rape against an adult woman or a minor, or incest against a minor. Even in those limited exceptions, the physician must attempt to save the child. Anyone violating the act can be imprisoned for up to 5 years; no prosecution of the pregnant woman is permitted.
WHAT CAN I DO?
