Pastor Appreciation Month is a special time that congregations set aside each year to honor their pastors and pastoral families for the hard work, sacrificial dedication, and multiple blessings provided by these special people. It is typically scheduled in October but can be held at any time that is convenient for the church and the community. It is also important to remember that appreciation, affirmation, and prayer support of our spiritual leaders are appropriate throughout the entire year. Pastor Appreciation Month is one way we can counter the negative erosion in the lives of our spiritual leaders with the positive affirmation they need.
COVID-19 has been a significant challenge for all of us. The certainties of life and the foundations we’ve depended on have vanished, or at least been rocked. Dr. Wayde Goodall encourages pastors to be as innovative as possible to create ways to communicate and remind their congregations that Jesus Christ is our foundation.

Pastors work hard to shepherd the families in their church. We’ve compiled a list of ministries where pastors can find rest for their families during rough seasons of ministry. These referrals do not necessarily imply a complete endorsement. Though we try to avoid recommending ministries or organizations whose views and approach do not accord with our Christian principles, it is not always possible to ensure complete agreement in outlook, especially when the need to be met or the service to be rendered is very specific or technical in nature.
