Kyla B. had done a lot to get ready for Bring Your Bible to School Day. She printed flyers and gave them to her classmates. She also asked her friends to bring their Bibles.
“I was really excited to share about the Good News of Jesus,” Kyla says. “He died on the Cross, so we could go to heaven.”

But the 9-year-old Wisconsin student woke up feeling really nervous on the big day last October. Her mom tried to encourage her by giving her a hug. That’s when Kyla noticed a Bible verse on a plaque on the dining room wall.
“Joshua 1:9,” it said. “Be strong and brave. Do not be afraid. Do not lose hope. I am the Lord your God. I will be with you everywhere you go.”
“It encouraged me so much,” Kyla says. She wrote the verse on her hand to help her remember. “I don’t have to be afraid,” Kyla says, “because He’s with me.”

When it was time for free reading, Kyla asked her teacher if she could read her Bible. The teacher told her not yet. Kyla read a different book for a while. Then she asked again, and the teacher said yes.
Kyla whispered to another student that they were allowed to read their Bibles. That student passed it on to someone else. And that person told another. Soon all the students who’d brought their Bibles were reading them.
During recess, Kyla met with other students under a tree on a hill near the playground. They passed their Bibles around and took turns reading the story of Esther.
Reading together was Kyla’s favorite part of the day. “It was really fun,” she says. “We had a great time.”
Kyla says students could bring their Bibles every day and share their faith with others during free time. “Then everyone could know that there’s actually a God out there who cares for them and loves them,” Kyla says. “I think that’s really cool.”

1. Pray
2. Sign up at BringYourBible.org.
3. Read the free guide.
4. Let your principal know you’d like to participate in Bring Your Bible to School Day.
5. Tell your friends.
6. Pass out flyers and put up posters according to school rules.
7. Mark some verses that are important to you in your Bible.
8. Bring your Bible to school on Thursday, October 5, 2017!
