Eugene’s Mystery Math Squares #19

Greetings and salutations! In addition to determining the desired numerical sequences, this month’s puzzle asks you to build equations.

Complete the grid so that each row and column contains every digit from 1 to 6 (as you would with a sudoku). However, the numbers in each shaded area also form an equation. The total is shown in the top-left corner, along with the mathematical operation—addition (+), subtraction (–), multiplication (x) or division (/)—involved. For example, 5– would use the numbers 6 and 1 or 1 and 6 (in either order), since 6 – 1 = 5.

I suggest starting with the single squares—since no operation is listed, simply copy the number listed in the corner. Have fun!
