Did you slice through the October code? Here it is again:
How It Works
Rewrite each triangle as a three-digit number. Empty corners equal 0; white circles equal 1 and black circles equal 2. Start at the top corner, then left to right. Your code should look like this:
011—012—110—100—211—012—200.
This code uses a special counting method called base 3. Multiply the first digit by 9 (3 x 3), the second digit by 3 and the last digit by 1, then add the three digits together. For example, 201 = (2 x 9) + (0 x 3) + (1 x 1) = 19.
Finally, convert those totals to letters using the basic substitution code (A = 1, B = 2, . . . Z = 26).
Here is the entire alphabet:
Coolness!
People all over the world eat pizza with different toppings. In Brazil, peas are a popular topping. In Japan, they add eel and squid. In Costa Rica, you can get coconut on your pizza. Australians often opt for shrimp and barbeque sauce on top. Russians order their pizza with red herring and other fish. In India, they say, “Bring on the minced mutton and pickled ginger!” And, surely, people in other countries think it’s silly that Americans load their pizza pies with pepperoni, sausage, hamburger, bacon and extra cheese.
