If your total score is between 0-3, you do not worry much at all.
If you scored between 4-8, you worry sometimes.
If you tallied between 9-14, you worry most days.
If you hit 15-21, you probably worry throughout each day.
Note: If you scored 9 or more, talk to your parents or a trusted adult about your worries.
Comfort From Worry
Try these tips.
1. Breathe Deeply. Take a deep breath in through your nose and hold it for three seconds. Let out the breath through your mouth. Do this three or four times to relax.
2. Be Present. Next time you eat, use all your senses to enjoy the food. Notice how it looks, smells and tastes. Pay attention to the way it feels in your mouth. Listen to the sound of your chewing. When we pay attention to the present, we worry less about the future.
3. Give Thanks. Thank God for everything He provides. Remember that He’s in charge. “Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God . . . casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you” (1 Peter 5:6-7, ESV).
4. Read and Memorize Scripture. Isaiah 41:10 says, “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you.” Find other verses too!
