1. Cut paper into small rectangles of three different sizes:
7/8 x 2-1/4 inches
3/4 x 2 inches
5/8 x 1-3/4 inches
A paper trimmer can quickly cut exact sizes.

2. Use scallop scissors to create a decorative edge on one of the shorter rectangle ends. Then curl end slightly around a pen or finger.

3. Using hot glue, attach pieces of paper to the Styrofoam cone. Work from the bottom up, overlapping each piece with the one next to it and below it.
Cover bottom third of tree with at least two rows of large rectangles (7/8 x 2-1/4 inches).
Cover middle third of tree with two rows of medium rectangles (3/4 x 2 inches).
Cover top of tree with two small rectangles (5/8 x 1-3/4 inches).

4. Glue buttons on paper for ornaments. Cover tip of tree with a small circle of paper.

5. Cut two stars from felt. Glue small piece of wire between stars, then stick wire in top of cone.

6. Give your tree to a friend or neighbor and invite them to the Christmas Eve service at your church.
