Words

Words are like birds, around you they fly,
Twisting and turning up in the sky.
They are very pretty and very bright,
They flap and they flutter way up out of sight.

Words are like squirrels; they make barely a sound,
Running through trees with a leap and a bound.
They can be cute, shy and sometimes quite daring,
Sitting in trees with their little eyes staring.

But words can be cunning, snappy and shrewd,
Like foxes they slink in a terrible mood.
They slay with a single swipe,
And with no guilt they take a bite.

Words are one thing that cannot be bought,
By no person will they ever be caught.
