Gary Schneeberger’s three decades in journalism and public relations fuel his passion for strategic marketing and communications. He served as Focus on the Family’s Vice President of Communications from 2007-2012 and returned to the ministry in 2023 as assistant to the president for media relations.

He directs public relations efforts to raise the profile and impact of the ministry’s many initiatives centered on, among other topics, marriage, parenting, the sanctity of human life and civic responsibility. 

He is the author of the Bite the Dog: Build a PR Strategy to Make News That Matters (Niche Pressworks, 2018), a guidebook to the effective practice of public relations. It has been hailed by critics as “helpful and hilarious” and revealing “a brilliant mind, heart and passion for excellence.” Colleagues have recommended it as “smart, clear, cogent, actionable and always thoroughly entertaining.”

Schneeberger and his wife, Kelly, have two adult children and live in Camp Lake, Wis.
