Focus on the Family and Colson Center to Host Discussion About Equality, Race, and Reconciliation

Focus on the Family and Colson Center partner to bring Lighthouse Voices to Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs, CO — On April 11, 2023, Focus on the Family and the Colson Center will host a Lighthouse Voices event on the main Focus on the Family campus, featuring keynote speaker Monique Duson.

Duson, author of Reconciled: A Biblical Approach to Racial Unity and president of the Center for Biblical Unity,tackles the challenging and timely topic of racial unity and reconciliation, explaining how the Gospel offers ultimate hope. Through her talk, Duson hopes to bridge the cultural divides between believers so that they might love one another well – even amid their differences.

“How can Christian brothers and sisters cross cultural divides and love each other according to the Father’s rules?” Lighthouse Voices’ website poignantly asks.

“Every person possesses inherent dignity and immeasurable worth. It’s time to embrace this timeless truth once again,” Mike Abriam, organizer of the event, said.

“That’s why we have invited Monique Duson, President of the Center for Biblical Unity, to discuss the truths behind race, unity, and justice. Join us for this crucial discussion and be the light in your families and communities.”

Lighthouse Voices is designed to encourage discussions about difficult and complex issues facing society today by hosting speakers who explore hot-button topics from a biblical perspective. Previous speakers have included Dr. Kathy Koch, Dr. Anthony Bradley, and Katy Faust — who have touched on topics ranging from raising children with biblical character to what young men need to be successful in life.

Together, Focus on the Family and the Colson Center offer attendees of Lighthouse Voices a deeper level of understanding about issues that matter most today, focusing on confusing and controversial intersections of family and culture in our society.

Lighthouse Voices will take place at Focus on the Family in Colorado Springs on April 11^th at 6:30 p.m. MT. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. MT. Colson Center President John Stonestreet will moderate a Q&A with Duson following her remarks.
