Jay Carty

Jay Carty (deceased) was a public speaker and the author/co-author of 10 books including Basic Training for Spiritual CombatPrayer for Rookies and Playing With Fire. Jay was a professional basketball player and coach who played for the Los Angeles Lakers, and was a member of John Wooden’s staff for three years at UCLA. Following his basketball career and a time in the business world, Jay directed a Christian conference center, was a church consultant with Churches Alive, and in 1982 began Yes! Ministries, an organization dedicated to helping people say “yes!” to God. Jay died of cancer on May 4, 2017. He is survived by his wife, Mary, and their two grown children.
