Ray Vander Laan

Ray Vander Laan is the founder of That the World May Know Ministries and the creator and host of Focus on the Family’s widely-acclaimed That the World May Know resource series. Through his work, Ray has brought the ancient world of the Bible to life, offering powerful insights into God’s Word and its relevance for believers today.

Now, Ray is taking his teachings even further with the new RVL Discipleship: The Study — a dynamic, in-depth video course designed to help Christians deepen their faith and walk the path of true discipleship. Whether for personal growth, family discipleship, or church small groups, this study challenges participants to understand the Bible in its historical context, drawing powerful connections to modern-day faith.

Ray serves as a religion instructor at Holland Christian Schools in Holland, Mich., and is an ordained minister with the Christian Reformed Church. He and his wife, Esther, are blessed with four grown children and many grandchildren.
