Sam Adams

Sam Adams is the director of the U.S. Climate Initiative for the World Resources Institute, leading the organization’s efforts to analyze and develop new policies, build political will and support coalitions that will encourage the U.S.’s transition to a strong, low-carbon economy. He served as the Mayor of Portland, Ore., from 2008-2012, and on Portland’s City Council from 2004-2008. Sam became involved in politics in 1986 as an aide in the successful campaign to elect Peter DeFazio to the U.S. House of Representatives.
