Major Scotty Smiley is the Army’s first active-duty, blind officer. In 2005 he was permanently blinded from a suicide car bombing attack in Iraq. He went on to receive numerous awards for his service and graduate from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business with his MBA. Scotty and his wife, Tiffany, reside with their three sons in Spokane, Wash.
