Sue Acuña

Sue Acuña has helped shaped the lives of innumerable kids by teaching middle school for nearly 30 years. She and education expert Cynthia Tobias are co-authors of the book Middle School: The Inside Story (What Kids Tell Us But Don’t Tell YOU), and the two travel around the nation offering sound advice on understanding (and getting along with) middle schoolers. Sue holds a master’s degree in education from Concordia University in Portland and spent the bulk of her career teaching in Southern California and the Pacific Northwest. Now retired from teaching, Sue and her husband, Paul, enjoy traveling and spending time with their grown children and young grandchildren.
