Tom Coburn, M.D. is a medical doctor, Southern Baptist deacon and United States Senator for the state of Oklahoma. Prior to his Senate election in 2004, Dr. Coburn represented Oklahoma’s Second Congressional District in the House of Representatives from 1995-2001. He is the author of two books, including The Debt Bomb: A Bold Plan to Stop Washington from Bankrupting America. Dr. Coburn and his wife, Carolyn, live in Muskogee, OK. They have three grown children.
