What is Focus on Life Day?

We are asking radio listeners in the area to consider becoming a Voice For Life, someone willing to promote the sanctity of life by reaching out to help women facing an unexpected pregnancy.

What can I do to get involved?

By giving $95 to become a Voice For Life, you can help a woman at risk for an abortion receive the help and counseling she needs just when she needs it most. Most importantly, the $95 will go toward our goal of making sure more of these clinics are able to offer women at risk for abortion receive an ultrasound. This allows them to see truth with their very own eyes … their child is a living, human being who deserves to live!

What do you mean by a woman who is “at-risk for abortion?”

The term, at-risk, refers to a woman with a positive pregnancy test who appears to be planning to obtain an abortion or who is facing obstacles and pressures that cause her to be more vulnerable to abortion.

What happens when I call?

One of our specially trained phone counselors at Focus on the Family will thank you for your interest in becoming a Voice For Life. They will then get all the information needed for you to make an immediate gift, charged to your credit or debit card. If you prefer to send a check, the operator will give you a mailing address after first asking you to share your contact information so that we may follow up with you.

How long is Focus on Life Day going to be on the radio?

Just one day.

Will I miss my favorite radio programs because of Focus on Life Day?

No. We are working closely with the station so that all of your favorite programs will air at the usual time. Music, weather, news and other information will be broadcast as well as information about Focus on Life Day.

If I make a donation, how can I be sure the money is really going to help young moms facing an unexpected pregnancy?

A respected worldwide ministry, Focus on the Family is a founding member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability. The ECFA is a voluntary “watchdog” group that applies tough standards of openness and accountability to Christian ministries worldwide. Focus has earned their highest rating for trustworthiness.

Where can a woman facing an unexpected pregnancy find a pregnancy center?

If you are facing an unexpected pregnancy, rest assured that you are not alone. Go to www.OptionLine.org to find a pregnancy center near you that can provide free, confidential services such as a pregnancy test, compassionate counseling and information on all your options. Many are medical clinics that can provide a free ultrasound to confirm a viable pregnancy and refer you for medical care and related community services. There is no charge for their services.

Does Focus have resources for women facing an unexpected pregnancy?

If you are pregnant, considering adoption or parenting, or if you’ve had an abortion, Focus on the Family is here to help. For more information about the choices you (or your daughter) may be facing, we have helpful articles and referrals. You can also find free online booklets and additional resources that may be helpful to you in your journey, as well as help to connect you with other women who are on their own journeys.

Does Focus on the Family have counseling to help me to deal with an unexpected pregnancy or a past abortion?

What is the Option Ultrasound Program?

Option Ultrasound provides grants that cover 80 percent of the cost of an ultrasound machine or sonography training for nursing staff at pregnancy centers nationwide.

Does Option Ultrasound really help?

Yes. It’s been estimated that the Option Ultrasound Program has saved the lives of more than 100,000 babies since it began in 2004.
