Alex Azar

Alex Azar is the United States Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), a position he’s held since Jan. 25, 2018. An attorney, he served as General Counsel for HHS (2001-2005) and then as Deputy Secretary (2005-2007). From 2007 to 2017, Sec. Azar was a senior executive at Eli Lilly and Company, a pharmaceutical company with its U.S. division based in Indianapolis. He graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in economics and government from Dartmouth College and earned his law degree from Yale University.
