Resources and Training in Christian Counseling and Psychology

Do you have any advice or school recommendations for someone who wants to pursue a career in Christian psychology and counseling? I'm looking for colleges and universities that offer degree programs in this field from a distinctly biblical perspective.

If you feel that the Lord might be leading you into the field of psychology or counseling, we would suggest that you begin “knocking on some doors.” Below you’ll find a link to a list of Christian institutions that offer graduate programs in this discipline. Perhaps career counselors at these schools could answer your questions in more detail.

In addition, we recommend that you read two books by Dr. Gary Collins, The Rebuilding of Psychology (Tyndale) and Psychology and Theology : Prospects for Integration (Abingdon Press). They summarize the field of psychology from a Christian perspective. Also helpful is Biblical Concepts for Christian Counseling: A Case for Integrating Psychology and Theology by William T. Kirwan (Baker Book House).

For further information, feel free to call and speak with one of our counselors.
