Alive From New York: Seeing Life Clearly in Times Square

Share:
On May 4, 2019, our 4D ultrasound footage will enable people in Times Square to #SeeLifeClearly and to consider the undeniable scientific evidence that a baby in the womb is fully human, fully alive and fully worthy of protection.

Times Square.

Just the mention of this iconic locale evokes images of glitter and lights, of the hustle and bustle of New York City streets. Located in the middle of Manhattan, Times Square is known as “The Crossroads of the World” – one of the most-visited locations on the planet. It’s where more than 1 million people gather to watch the ball drop on New Year’s Eve, and where the glow of large LED screens and billboards emits from almost every direction.

If something is “happening” in the world of news, marketing or pop culture, you’ll probably see it referenced somewhere on a Times Square screen.

But what if some of those giant digital screens sent a message more compelling than simply “Buy!” or “Consume!” or follow the crowd? What if they could be used to open our eyes to something deeper, meaningful, even sacred? Would we stop and pay attention?

That is the vision behind Focus on the Family’s Alive from New York event on May 4, 2019. Our nation is at a critical moment. The sanctity of life is currently under siege across the country, with elected leaders pushing for unrestricted abortion up to the moment of birth. Some politicians have even suggested that infanticide is a viable option for babies who survive the procedure. These developments grieve God’s heart, and they grieve the heart of every American who affirms the value and dignity of human life.

That’s why, on May 4 – a week before Mother’s Day – Focus on the Family will push back against the darkness and make a public declaration for life. The Alive From New York event will highlight 4D ultrasound footage projected in Times Square. Through these powerful images, as well as live music, inspirational speeches and stories from abortion survivors, we will unite as one voice and proclaim that life in the womb is sacred and worthy of protection.

Is there a more perfect venue than Times Square to proclaim this message? As pro-life believers, we already know that a child in the womb is “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14). But with even more lives at stake as protections for preborn babies are being dismantled in many states, we can no longer just preach to the choir. We want to take this message to the masses.

Through the technology of 4D ultrasound – which reveals the heartbeat, facial features (even smiles and yawns!) and other unique characteristics of a baby in the womb – we can echo the psalmist’s voice: Even the tiniest humans are fearfully and wonderfully made!

As the throngs moving through Times Square on May 4, our prayer is that they will see this truth for themselves. Our 4D ultrasound footage will enable those passing by to #SeeLifeClearly and to consider the undeniable scientific evidence that a baby in the womb is fully human, fully alive and fully worthy of protection.

While we’re spreading this message to as wide an audience as possible through screens in Times Square and related media coverage, we want our friends and supporters to be there, too. If you’ll be in the New York area on May 4, we hope you’ll consider joining us. But be aware that space is limited. To secure your place at the event, please register at AlivefromNewYork.com.

Even if you won’t be in New York on May 4, you can still witness this historic pro-life gathering on your computer or mobile device. To sign up for the free live stream of Alive from New York, visit AlivefromNewYork.com/livestream.

Our nation, and our society, is at a crossroads. We can no longer sit on the sidelines. Now is the moment to unite with one voice to proclaim the sanctity of life. The truth will be visible to all in Times Square – at The Crossroads of the World.
