Since losing her parents at a young age and spending time in foster care and kinship care until she was 18, Helen brings a powerful perspective to the need for quality foster families. She has seen great improvements in the resources made available for foster families and youth and is passionate about leveraging her personal and professional experience to see that continue.

Richardson earned a business degree and MPA from Indiana Wesleyan and has spoken at both the RE and Replanted foster care and adoption conferences.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading and fly fishing in Colorado Springs, where she lives with her husband.
