Headshot of Focus on the Family broadcast guest Kathy Grace Duncan

Kathy Grace Duncan

As a young girl, Kathy Grace Duncan felt a strong desire to become a boy, and that desire grew increasingly stronger as she grew older and experienced severe abuse and family dysfunction. She began living a double life, pretending to be male around those who didn’t know her, and when she moved away from home at age 19, she initiated male-hormone therapy and fully identified as a man named Keith. She lived this way for nearly 12 years, during which she turned to substance abuse and pornography to dull the pain of her childhood trauma. She eventually turned to God, and with His help and the help of Christian friends, she began to transition back to a woman. Kathy is currently a women’s ministry leader and Chairwoman of the Board at Portland Fellowship, a non-profit, interdenominational ministry offering a message of freedom and hope found in Jesus Christ for those who feel conflicted between their sexual desires and their faith. You can read more of Kathy’s story at the organization’s website.
