As a couple, discuss the book of Romans. Read each chapter together or individually, then focus your conversation on the following passage and discussion questions.
“If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all” (Romans 12:18).
- Which person is most difficult for you to get along with? Why?
- What does the phrase “live peaceably” mean to you?
- What are some specific things we can do to live at peace with those who are a challenge for us to get along with?
We all have colleagues, family members or friends who seem difficult to get along with. Unfortunately, the turmoil caused by our struggles with these people often overflows into our other relationships. It’s not easy to live peaceably with everyone, but Scripture teaches that it is up to us to try. Seeking the support of your spouse and asking God for guidance is a great way to start.
