Keeping Christ in focus during the Christmas season might feel easier than any other time of the year. But keeping our hearts set on the life that Jesus lived is essential to our faith all year round.

As a couple, read the Nativity story found in Luke 2, then focus your conversation on the Scripture verse below and discuss the questions that follow.

“And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.” —Colossians 1:17

  • What was your favorite Christmas tradition growing up?
  • What part of the Nativity story gives you the most hope?
  • How can I support you as you attempt to keep your focus on Christ in the coming year?

Keeping Christ in focus during the Christmas season might feel easier than any other time of the year. Family get-togethers and joyful gift giving can be wonderful reminders of the kind of love that surrounds us in the presence of the King. But what about the rest of the year? Keeping our hearts set on the life that Jesus lived — as well as the miracle of His birth — is essential to our faith all year round.
