Whether you visit Walt Disney World or the World's Largest Ball of Paint, get serious about having vacation fun as a married couple.

Today’s Scripture

“Bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony” (Colossians 3:13-14, ESV).

Today’s Devotion

Vacation time! Looking for some vacation fun as a married couple? Are you headed to the mountains? The beach? Your favorite amusement park? Or do you like those out-of-the-way places like:

  • The Billy Bass Adoption Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. Remember those fake fish that sang loudly? This place “adopts” them and adds them to the decor.
  • The World’s Largest Ball of Paint in Alexandria, Indiana. It started life as a baseball dipped in a can of paint … and, well, it’s grown a bit.
  • The Spam Museum in Austin, Minnesota. Because mystery meat deserves a final resting place.

You probably won’t have to wait in line at any of these places. And who knows? You may have a bit of fun if you choose to visit one of them. Isn’t that the point? You and your spouse deal with the “tough stuff” every day. There’s always a bill to pay, a project to complete, or a problem to solve. You’re good at taking care of these things. But don’t forget to invest in each other and do as Colossians 3:13-14 says, “Bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.” (ESV)

What better way to “put on love” than to make time to have vacation fun as a married couple! Whether you visit Walt Disney World or the World’s Largest Ball of Paint, get serious about enjoying some fun time together this summer!

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank you for my spouse and the relationship we share. Give us time to laugh and enjoy each other’s company. Amen.
